The Haque Law Wings of Expression Scholarship

Haque Law believes in the power of today’s young artists and wants to support them as they pursue their academic goals. That drive inspired the firm’s personal injury lawyers in Houston to debut its Wings of Expression scholarship, valued at $2,500.

Students interested in applying for the Wings of Expression scholarship are invited to create a sketch or concept design for a wing-inspired mural. The mural should inspire people to take photos in front of it while uplifting their spirits. The winning student will design and paint their mural on an eight-foot by six-foot wall and have the creation process shared on social media.

Haque Law will provide its winning student with $2,500 to dedicate toward their continued academic studies and $500 for artistic supplies. The team looks forward to giving an ambitious, creative student the opportunity to share their art with the world. Students have until April 1, 2026, to complete their applications.

Who Is Eligible?

Students interested in applying for the Wings of Expression scholarship should fill out the scholarship application form on this page. Haque Law invites students at United States trade schools, technical schools, colleges, and graduate schools to test their artistic ability and apply by the April 1, 2026, deadline.

Students must agree to the scholarship’s terms and conditions and submit all of the requested application materials by the submission deadline. Additionally, applicants must be able to provide their own transportation to Houston to receive their winnings and complete the firm’s wing mural.

Application Process

When applying for the Wings of Expression scholarship, please fill out the scholarship form on this page with your contact information, a preliminary sketch or concept art of your ideal mural, and a video depicting the process you underwent when brainstorming the project.

The firm requests that you please upload your process video to YouTube as an unlisted video, and then include a link to that unlisted video along with your application.

Scholarship Video Topic

Haque Law invites artistic students to apply for its Wings of Expression scholarship by designing an eight-foot by six-foot mural inspired by wings. This mural should draw the eye and encourage people to stand in front of it while expressing an optimistic and uplifting message.

When submitting their applications, students should include the following materials:

  • A sketch or concept design for the wing-type mural: Please include photos and a brief explanation of your inspiration behind it.
  • A short video showcasing the process of creating your mural: Students can include reactions from friends or community members who viewed and interacted with their art. The maximum length of your video should be around 2-3 minutes

Design Recommendations

Haque Law is looking for a mural representing sophisticated hawk wings that look vintage, strong, and weathered. Ideally, the firm wants artists to work with neutral tones, including tans, creams, blacks, and grays. The winning student will paint their mural on a soft white background.

Examples of designs that the firm likes include the following:

AI Statement

The representatives at Haque Law and its scholarship selection committee request that applicants refrain from using AI when submitting concept art for the Wings of Expression mural.

The firm will ask its winning artist to complete their mural on a large scale, meaning that an applicant should be prepared to complete the artistic work needed to reflect their concept art in person.

The use of AI to generate an image as concept art for the Wings of Expression scholarship, or the use of AI to create a scholarship video, will see the applicant disqualified and removed from the applicant pool.

Scholarship Deadline

Students have until April 1, 2026, to apply for the Haque Law Wings of Expression scholarship. Unfortunately, the firm cannot consider applications submitted after this deadline passes or applications submitted without all of the requested materials.

Upon the passing of the scholarship deadline, the scholarship selection committee reserves up to three months to choose its winner. Please do not contact the firm to ask for updates on the status of a student’s application during this timeframe.
