About
Michael Medina is a Houston native who currently resides in Galveston County. He earned his Juris Doctor from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University, where he co-founded the Veteran Law Society with fellow veterans and served as its President. Michael also holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Criminology from the University of Houston–Clear Lake, as well as an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from College of the Mainland.
Before entering the legal profession, Michael honorably served five years in the United States Marine Corps, including a deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He concluded his military service with the rank of Sergeant. Following his time in the military, Michael continued his service to the community as a Police Officer with the Galveston Police Department, where he served as a Field Training Officer responsible for training new officers and was selected as a member of the department’s SWAT Team.
In addition to his legal and law enforcement experience, Michael has assisted veterans in securing their educational benefits and has professional experience in demolition, construction, and refinery operations through his work with Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS).
Outside the office, Michael values time with his wife, son, and daughter and strives to create meaningful memories with his family. He enjoys staying active through fitness training and weightlifting, reading, playing the piano, and painting. Michael also takes pride in mentoring his son through his college studies, supporting his daughter in her academic journey, and encouraging his wife as she pursues her nursing education. He continues to live by the Marine Corps Leadership Principle #5: “Set the example.”
