About
Maheen Khalid-Mumtaz is a skilled and passionate attorney whose dedication to advocacy is matched by her commitment to client-centered service. As an Associate Attorney at Haque Law, PLLC, Maheen brings a sharp legal mind and a strong command of personal injury litigation, from intake through resolution. Her practice includes taking and defending depositions, negotiating with insurance adjusters and opposing counsel, and drafting comprehensive legal documents—all with a steady focus on delivering results that matter.
Prior to joining Haque Law, Maheen served as an Associate Attorney and Law Clerk at the Daspit Law Firm, where she honed her skills in client communication, case development, and litigation support. Her training also includes work with the Law Office of Stephen B. Frankoff, as well as a background in environmental compliance and client relations at Peace Environmental Services.
Maheen earned her Juris Doctor from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where she not only distinguished herself in the classroom but also founded and led the Muslim Law Students Association and served as president of the Asian American Pacific Islander Students Association. She graduated cum laude from the University of Houston–Downtown with a degree in History and minors in Political Science and Sociology.
In her free time, Maheen pulls out her violin every now and then, having played for over 17 years. She also enjoys scouring the internet for new fantasy books to read—and getting thoroughly humbled by talented children in Fortnite lobbies.
